Vince Kenney is Assistant Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Low Brass at Drake University, where he directs low brass studies and conducts the Drake University Symphonic Band, Marching Band, and Bulldog Brass.

Dr. Kenney is active performing as a euphonium soloist, conductor, and chamber musician, and has presented guest artist recitals at dozens of the finest universities and music conferences throughout the United States, including the International Tuba-Euphonium Conference, the United States Army Band Tuba/Euphonium Workshop, the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Conference (TMEA), and the Eastman School of Music. As a member of the North Texas Euphonium Quartet (NTEQ), Vince has helped to establish the euphonium quartet as a viable chamber medium. To date, NTEQ has helped to facilitate the creation of over 100 new works for euphonium quartet.

A two-time finalist in the Leonard Falcone International Euphonium Solo Competition, Vince completed his undergraduate degrees in music performance and education at the University of Illinois, and his master’s and doctoral degrees in Euphonium Performance from the University of North Texas.

Prior to his work at Drake, Vince served as the Director of Instrumental Music at North Central Texas College in Gainesville, Texas where he founded the NCTC Wind Ensemble. He is a contributing author to the Teaching Music Through Performance in Band Series, and has had the opportunity to perform with numerous orchestras, including The Champaign-Urbana Symphony, Orchestra Iowa, and with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Mineria, in Mexico City, Mexico.
